Wednesday 7 October 2015: Based on data from a soon to be released Cork school-based study, researchers at the Health Research Board Centre for Health and Diet Research have today announced their support for the Pre-Budget Submission from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and have called for a 20% tax on sugar-sweetened drinks.

CORK, IRELAND – 28 September 2015: The INFANT Centre (Irish Centre for Foetal and Neonatal Translational Research) at University College Cork (UCC), Bioscreen Health, laya healthcare and IBM launched the ‘LEANBH’ project in the Cork University Maternity Hospital today, designed to make pregnancy safer.

In December 2014 the Irish Minister for Health, with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI), launched the new 5 year Master of Pharmacy Programme (MPharm) with the goal of helping future pharmacists better meet the changing needs of the healthcare system.

Monday 14 September 2015: Today, University College Cork, the Leadership team and the HSE ICT working group of the South/South West Hospital Group, have signalled their intention to roll-out the EDUROAM (education roaming) wireless network across its nine hospitals.
