TECHNICAL OPERATIVE, SCHOOL OF PHARMACY
(Half-time 6mth Contract)
Applications are invited from suitably qualified members of staff for the above temporary half time post for 6 months.
The successful candidate will provide services to the teaching and research activities of the Cavanagh Pharmacy building which houses the School of Pharmacy and ABCRF.
Duties will include
- Responsibility for the establishment and smooth running of the stores and counter service.
- Receiving, maintenance and distribution of stocks and supplies including chemicals, solvents and general consumables throughout the building.
- Supply of compressed gases and solvent drums and return of empty cylinders including manual handling of heavy gas cylinders (ca. 50-100Kg) and 50 gallon solvent drums (140 – 270Kg).
- General technical operative support for teaching and research facilities in the building.
Candidates will have an NCEA Certificate or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related area.IT skills are required, as is previous experience of working with chemicals.Some familiarity with Health and Safety procedures is also a requirement of the post.Flexibility in work practices is also a necessity.

Salary scales:
€716.34 (Scale A) per week(pro rata)
€745.86 (Scale B) per week(pro rata)
