Research Scientist Positions - Mucosal Immunology / IBD Exploratory
The Alimentary Pharmabiotic Centre (APC) (www.apc.ucc.ie) is a research centre funded by Science Foundation Ireland and headquartered in University College Cork, Ireland . The APC has recently announced a major research collaboration with the global pharmaceutical company, GSK, to develop new therapies for gastrointestinal diseases and is therefore expanding its research team.
Research Scientist Positions – Mucosal Immunology/IBD Exploratory
Two positions are available to study immunological mechanisms underlying immune-mediated gastrointestinal disorders and novel drug treatments for them. Candidates should have a strong background in immunology, eukaryotic cell biology, or in vivo mucosal immunology with an interest in inflammatory diseases. An MSc is desirable but not essential. The person will be expected to support APC and GSK scientists and also work independently. Candidates with experience in at least three or all of the following are desirable, animal handling and husbandry, in vivo experimentation, ex vivo organ culture,in vitro assay systems, ELISAs, PCR, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry and/or western blotting.
