Edgeworth Centre for Financial Mathematics (ECFM)

The Edgeworth Centre for Financial Mathematics (ECFM) comprises researchers from the Schools of Mathematical Sciences in Dublin City University (DCU) and University College Cork (UCC), the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the University of Limerick, and DCU Business School. Established in January 2008 through Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) funding, the ECFM is Ireland's first national research centre for Financial Mathematics, with links to key players in the Irish financial services industry and to international researchers. It acts as an umbrella organisation for all current Financial Mathematics research grants of ECFM members.

The ECFM wishes to recruit two Research Fellows, with one position in each of the Schools of Mathematical Sciences in DCU and UCC. Applicants must possess a PhD in mathematics or a quantitatively oriented discipline of finance. They should also have a number of years postdoctoral research experience in Financial Mathematics or a closely related discipline and have a proven ability to work as an independent researcher. The successful candidates will devote the majority of their time to independent research. They will also have a role in various other activities of the Centre, including supervising some undergraduate or taught postgraduate dissertations, assisting with the supervision of postgraduate researchers in the Centre, and assisting in preparation of grant proposals.
