The UCC Programme in Planning and Sustainable Development launched its interdisciplinary M.Plan degree course in 2006. Its first cohort of students will sit final examinations next May.

This exciting new programme, which attracts high calibre students from a wide variety of disciplines, has a real-world contemporary focus with firm foundations in academic thought, applied research and professional planning practice.

UCC now wishes to appoint additional qualified and experienced staff to join its core team and help to consolidate the teaching and research elements of the programme.

  • College Lecturer (3 year appointment)
  • College Lecturer (1 year appointment – maternity leave replacement)

Applications are invited from candidates with a experience in planning research and / or professional planning practice.  The programme would also be interested in candidates with wide generalist experience in planning as well as in those with specialist experience in fields such as: urban design, action planning / master planning, environmental design, landscape, metropolitan planning, coastal planning, regional and spatial planning, economics of planning and development, transportation planning, planning in the developing world, comparative planning systems (international), or contemporary planning theory.

Salary scale:

  • 3 year post - €36,500 - €85,592 
  • 1 year post -  €36,500 - €59,293

Appointment on the relevant scale will be made commensurate with qualifications and experience.
