LECTURER IN APPLIED SOCIAL STUDIES (ACADEMIC COORDINATOR IN THIRD SECTOR MANAGEMENT)

College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences

The Department of Applied Social Studies in collaboration with the Department of Food Business and Development/Centre for Co-operative Studies, Departments of Accounting & Finance, Business Information Systems, Economics, Government, Management & Marketing and the Faculty of Law is launching an M.Soc.Sc. in Third Sector Management.

This important initiative arises in response to the growing importance of the Third Sector (i.e. voluntary and community organisations) within the Irish Social Partnership model.It is intended to upskill the growing numbers of staff within Third Sector organisations in terms of meeting the challenges of the management of change. To lead this initiative, UCC is seeking to recruit an experienced practitioner with an outstanding academic record, including a Ph.D. in Social Science.Substantial practice experience in the voluntary and community organisations and a record of participation in teaching and research are essential.

Salary scale[new entrants]: €34,912 – €56,713
There is provision to a subsequent progression to a higher salary scale, maximum €81,867
