Government's €27bn Capital Projects Will Deliver 45,000 Construction Jobs
The government has announced details of its Capital Spending Plan on road, rail, flood defence and health projects. The plan includes a Metro line from Dublin City Centre to Dublin airport, as well as an upgrade to the M8 Dunkettle Interchange in Cork, and the M28 Cork-Ringaskiddy motorway project.
Other public transport upgrades in the plan include the extension of Dublin's DART network to Maynooth, new bus corridors, and the completion of the Luas tram line interconnection
In Cork, other planned road upgrades include the N22 between Ballyvourney and Macroom, as well as a new relief road in Mallow.
