Developer Supports City Boundary Extension to Attract FDI Projects

An extension to the boundary of Cork City would help to attract foreign direct investment and benefit the entire region, boosting job opportunities. New property developments are increasingly being backed by international institutional funds and such funds look favourably on larger metropolitan regions when seeking investment opportunities in construction and Civil Engineering.
The Irish Examiner reported the comments made by property developer Owen O'Callaghan who is currently involved in several major construction projects in the region including the One Albert Quay development near the city's docklands. The boundary of Cork City has not been extended for over 50 years and local government arrangements in the region are currently under review.
