Building Boom for Cork - Evening Echo

Employment for Civil Engineering graduates in Cork city is set to increase in 2015, with six major new projects due to commence this year.
The projects include the redevelopment of the GAA's Pairc Uí Chaoimh stadium, a new office complex at 1 Albert Quay, the multi-functional events centre on the old Beamish brewery site, a retail and mixed use development at the site of the Capitol Cineplex, a new entrance to Kent Station, an extension to the Bon Secours hospital and the planned Nano Nagle visitor centre. Two of these projects - Albert Quay and Pairc Ui Chaoimh - will employ over 1,000 construction workers. The Evening Echo also quotes the Construction Industry Federation as saying that significant new construction projects are also expected in the pharmaceutical sector in 2015.
