Professor Nabeel A. Riza receives The Fellow Award from the International Society for Imaging Science and Technology

The International Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) has presented its IS&T Fellow Award to Professor Nabeel A. Riza (2019 IS&T Edwin H. Land Medalist), School of Engineering and Architecture, UCC.
The Fellow Award of the IS&T is awarded for outstanding achievement in imaging science or engineering, with the presentation taking place in a ceremony in the USA
Professor Riza’s Fellow Award citation states: “for invention of the extreme linear dynamic range full spectrum Coded Access Optical Sensors - Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor ( CAOS-CMOS ) camera and other high impact inventions in image engineering.”
A maximum of five Fellow awards can be presented annually. Professor Riza is the sole recipient of the award for 2022 for which he received a triangular, engraved plexiglass statuette. Previous renowned IS&T Fellow awardees include American landscape photographer Ansel Adams and MIT Professor Stephen A. Benton who invented the rainbow hologram and received the 2005 IS&T Edwin H. Land Medal.
