Over 2,500 students attend UCC International Roadshow

Staff from the College of Science Engineering and Food Science were among the UCC team who completed a South Asia mission that began by attending the Education in Ireland India Roadshow. Five outreach and recruitment events were held across major cities: Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chennai with over 2,500 students attending the entire roadshow.
South Asia remains one of UCC’s largest and most diverse regions, with more than 500 students currently enrolled, more than double the volume in 2021.
Attendees sought programmes at all levels – undergraduate, postgraduate and research. UCC was represented at the roadshow by Dr Alan Morrison, Una Martin, Vaidehi Garigipati, Debalina Roy and Michael O’Sullivan. A selection of UCC agents supported the University team in each city with agent recruiters attending from Fateh, KC Overseas, Newstrides and IDP.
Eighteen Irish education institutions participated in the roadshow. The Visa Office from the Embassy of Ireland India was also present to support University and student queries. Prior to the roadshow commencing, University representatives and agents were hosted at the Irish Ambassador’s residence in Delhi.
During the visit UCC also participated in four recruitment agent fairs: Global Edge (Delhi), Newstrides (Pune), Fateh (Delhi & Mumbai). All fairs were well attended, Global Edge and NewStrides fairs focused on Ireland only, while Fateh fairs covered both UK and Ireland.
In addition to the outbound visits to agents in India and Bangladesh, UCC attended numerous other recruitment agent fairs in South Asia. These events were a mix of in-person and virtual events.
