Congratulations to UCC Food and Nutritional Sciences student Caoimhe Perdue who has represented Ireland in the Women's Hockey World Cup. The Women's Hockey World Cup campaign began on 2nd July at Amsterdam’s Wagener Stadium.
Caoimhe Perdue is a third-year Nutritional Sciences student, a UCC Quercus Sports scholar, and is the current Irish Under-21 captain.
Sean Dancer, the Ireland Women's Hockey coach, spoke in advance of the competition on the Hockey Ireland website:
“The team are excited about our progress and the opportunities that lie ahead over the next month, and know that anything is possible at a World Cup.”
“Our entire group, players and staff have been working extremely hard over the last month, on the basics that a new group has to do. This has been a tough but a very enjoyable period.”
Ireland began their World Cup campaign on 2nd July against the hosts and current world number one side, the Netherlands.
Congratulations to Caoimhe and team for representing Ireland so well in the competition.
