UCC Graduate Áine Walker wins RIBA President’s Silver Medal

We are delighted to announce that UCC graduate Áine Walker has been awarded the Serjeant Awards for Excellence in Drawing (Part 2) winner for Anamnesis: Connective (Re)Collections.
Áine Walker, M.Arch
This is an award open to international competition and represents an outstanding level of performance.

Áine graduated with the M.Arch award from Cork Centre for Architectural Education as one of the 2019 - 2020 cohort.
The awards are open to students on any RIBA-accredited course worldwide. This year the institute invited a record 426 schools of architecture in 82 countries to enter student work.
RIBA president Alan Jones said he had been ‘inspired’ by the mix of ‘exceptional proposals with climate emergency, ethics, equity and social purpose at the heart of their investigation and problem solving’.
He added: ‘The RIBA President’s Medals continue to acknowledge work of the highest calibre, and technical and social relevance, essential to future architects wishing to tackle our global challenges. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners, and thank you to the schools of architecture and the tutors, who have educated and nurtured their talent.’
