UCC welcomes prospective students at 2019 Autumn Open Day

Six thousand prospective students visited UCC on Saturday 12th October for the University’s Open Day. Held every year, the Open Day provides a wonderful opportunity to showcase all that makes UCC a great place to study.

UCC’s Open Day took place on Saturday 12th October 2019 from 9.30am to 3.30pm. With a jam-packed programme of talks and events providing a unique opportunity for prospective students to explore our campus, meet our staff and students and to learn about our programmes.

There was a great turn out for the Open Day, with visitors attending a variety of activities including talks, tours, workshops and information stands which took place in venues right across the campus.

The extensive range of academic subject and non-academic talks included topics from finance and grants, to scholarships, to sporting clubs and student societies. Visitors were also free to explore the campus which with friendly student ambassadors on hand in their striking red vests to help people to find their way around. Representatives of UCC’s Student Services teams met with parents and students on the day, including those from Fees, Admissions, Disability Support Service, Mature Student Office, International Office and Campus Accommodation. UCC Career Services also held a series of talks throughout the day on careers in the many different subject areas.
