Access and Parking
Parking Options
The area around the campus will be very busy. We are expecting thousands of visitors to the campus and therefore planning how you get here is essential. See below options about Park & Ride, Park & Walk, and the availability of car parks. Also, consider using public transport, walking, or cycling.
Park & Ride
A Park and Ride service will run from UCC Pouladuff Park and Ride. The drop-off point is at the Boole Library gates to UCC on College Road. See timetable below.
UCC Parking
There are two main Visitor Car Parks in UCC: Perrott’s Inch (off Western Road) and College Road (entry from Perrott Avenue). Please note fees apply to park here. The other UCC car parks will have the barrier up on the day. Depending on when you arrive, you may get a place there. It will be very busy so best to avoid the perimeter of the campus, in a car, once the event starts at 10am. There will also be a free Park & Walk facility, located at Dennehy's Cross Pres Rugby grounds, which is about 10-15 minutes walk away from main campus.
Public Transport Options
It is UCC's policy to reduce its carbon footprint. Please consider using public transport, walking or cycling (where possible) when getting to UCC. UCC's Main Campus is served by bus routes 205 (connecting from Kent Station), 208 and 220 with frequent services. Rural and town commuter services coming from the west also call at UCC (Western Rd).
Many other bus routes have stops in the City Centre, which is circa 15-20mins walk from campus. Visit www.buseireann.ie for details.
Where to Eat?
All the outlets in our large Student Centre (Áras na Mac Léinn) will be open, including their cafés, Hamish's bar & bistro, and shops. Our Visitors’ Services will have their outlets open too and you can purchase some lovely UCC merchandise. Don’t miss their campus tour happening on the hour from 10am until 3pm.
The Brookfield Café, the Western Gateway Café, Coffee Dock in the O’Rahilly Building (ORB), Elements Cafés in the Kane and the Western Gateway Building, and mobile foods stalls with yummy ice-cream, pizza, burgers, etc. will be open. And don't forget to check out the new restaurant Léas At The Glucksman on the Lower Grounds of the University.
