UCC Welcomes Nursing Leaders of Tomorrow from Chicago's DePaul University
CoMH was delighted to welcome a delegation of postgraduate students and faculty from DePaul University’s Master’s Entry to Nursing Practice (MENP) programme this week.
The visit, fostering international academic collaboration, began at the UCC School of Nursing and Midwifery (SNM). Carol Condon and Dr Rita Forde provided an insightful overview of the School’s activities, followed by vibrant discussions comparing research interests and exploring career opportunities in midwifery and nursing on both sides of the Atlantic.
The delegation then enjoyed a comprehensive tour, visiting the state-of-the-art facilities at Brookfield and the ASSERT Centre, followed by a tour of our historic main campus.
A highlight of the visit was a meeting with UCC President, Professor John O’Halloran, in the storied Aula Maxima. President O’Halloran spoke of UCC’s rich history, including the 'Women on Walls' initiative, and underscored the strong, ongoing links between UCC and DePaul University, noting his own previous visit to the Chicago campus.
The visit reinforced the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing nursing education and building global connections in healthcare.
