The First Responders and Civil Defence Lecture Day

People from across various agencies attended this important day which helps to build new interagency co-operation.
The College of Medicine and Health was delighted to welcome first responders to UCC on Saturday 2nd December 2023.

Education Training days like Saturday give Volunteers an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills, it enhances their motivation and gives them a greater insight into other Volunteer opportunities and career options.
These sessions also allow encourage interactions across various agencies to share experiences and build new interagency co-operation.
Organised by Dr Tony Lynch and Veronica Forde, A/Civil Defence Officer, an impressive line-up of speakers including Dr Colm Henry, Chief Clinical Officer, HSE, presented during the day on topics including Helicopter Medicine, First Responders' Mental Health and Paediatric Emergencies.
