Lecture Title "From biomarkers to human cell models: towards Precision Psychiatry." Mental disorders are an world-wide increasing burden. Available treatment approaches are effective, but diagnosis and treatment are often delayed, worsening the outcome of the affected individual. Furthermore, only about 20-30% of affected individuals respond to the initial treatment approach and about 10% do not respond sufficiently to available treatment options at all. Additionally, 90% of all novel drugs from preclinical studies fail in clinical trials. In this lecture, innovative and integrative methods will be presented that address those unmet medical needs in mental disorders. The examples to demonstrate those novel approaches will be mood disorders and adult ADHD, with a special focus on the peripartum period.
