Photography on the evening was by Therese McNamee.

Artist Anne McNamee's exhibition opened at the Jennings Gallery on Friday, 16th
May.

This exhibition features a collection of landscape and seascape paintings designed to evoke tranquility and reflection, offering a visual respite that nurtures emotional balance and well-being.

The exhibition launch was a relaxed and uplifting evening, warmly attended by Anne's friends, colleagues and supporters. There was a great sense of connection in the room, with many guests taking time to pause and absorb the quiet, atmospheric works on display.

The exhibition was officially opened by Professor Josephine Hegarty, Chair of the Jennings Gallery Committee, who gave a beautiful speech about Anne’s strong sense of place and the calm, contemplative quality of her paintings. She reflected on how the title “Quiet Light” really captured the spirit of the show with paintings that invite stillness, observation and emotional reflection.

Prof Hegarty commented; “Anne McNamee’s paintings represent the artist's close connection to seascapes. The representation of the ebb and flow of tides, and the many and varied reflections of emotions, light, and nature that the sea evokes, adds to the visual experience of the viewer when visiting Annes exhibition.”

Anne’s exhibition features a series of expressive seascapes and landscapes in acrylic, painted with an emphasis on light, space and mood. The Irish landscape is a constant source of inspiration. The work is both intimate and expansive, offering viewers a moment of peace and connection. Guests were drawn to the simplicity of composition and dreamlike atmosphere in the paintings, and many shared personal memories or feelings evoked by the landscapes. The response was warm, thoughtful and deeply engaged.

The exhibition runs until the 10th of June and visitors are encouraged to take a few quiet moments to enjoy the work.

Guests who want to follow Anne’s work beyond the exhibition can find her on Instagram at instagram.com/anneelizabetharts where she shares new paintings and studio updates.

Sincere thanks to all who attended and supported the event and to the Jennings Gallery team especially Caroline Seacy and Laoise Power for their ongoing encouragement and care.

Heartfelt thanks to Donal O'Riordan who ensured that the installation of the exhibition ran smoothly and that the artworks were hung and lit perfectly.
