Announcement of Employment-based PhD & MD Scholarships for Health Science Professionals 2026

Applications are now open for Employment-based PhD and MD Scholarships for Health Science Professionals, 2026. These programmes provide an opportunity for Health Science Professionals to conduct research whilst in employment. 

In line with UCC’s Strategic Plan 2023-2028, and the Mission of Graduate Studies in CoMH, the remit of these Employment Based Scholarship Programmes for Health Science Professionals is to enhance and sustain excellence in graduate education in healthcare and health sciences, to deepen collaboration between researchers, clinicians, and healthcare and health science partners, to increase doctoral enrolment numbers and to develop pathways to widen access to programmes. 

Proposed projects will align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and will be anchored within, or across, relevant UCC Futures research areas within the College of Medicine and Health.

The deadline for applications for the Employment-based MD Scholarships in partnership with the Bon Secours Hospital is Friday 29th May 2026.

The deadline for applications for the Employment-based PhD Scholarships Programme for Health Science Professionals is Tuesday 2nd June 2026.
