Intersections: Culture and Creativity Project

The Intersections: Culture and Creativity Project supported by the College of ACSSS Creative Practice Support Fund will run a series of workshops that aim to develop an original performance piece based on an Irish medieval travel text. The project jointly coordinated by Dr Małgorzata Krasnodębska-D’Aughton, UCC School of History and Dr Bernadette Cronin, UCC Drama and Theatre Studies brings together Irish and international creative artists and researchers.

A series of monthly workshops that contribute towards the UCC Creative Campus initiative will begin this Sunday, 11 January 2015 and the first workshop will be led by Kevin Crawford from the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo. Kevin Crawford studied with Roy Hart, a charismatic and unconventional voice teacher, before becoming a founding member of Roy Hart Theatre. In the 1970s he moved to France where he worked with the company for some twenty years, subsequently moving to Dublin where he was faculty member at Trinity College. He returned to France in 2002 to work at the Université d’Artois, before engaging with Accademia dell Arte in Arezzo, where he directs the MFA in Physical Theatre.

For more information on the project and future workshops email Dr Małgorzata D’Aughton at m.daughton@ucc.ie or Dr Bernadette Cronin at b.cronin@ucc.ie.

The first workshop will be held on Sunday, 11 January 2015, 10am-1pm in the Drama Lab (S4), Connolly Complex, Western Road, Cork (entrance opposite River Lee Hotel).
