The School of History is pleased to announce the establishment of a partnership arrangement with the Irish Examiner with regard to its coverage of the centenary of the 1916 Rising, and the subsequent landmark events through to the end of the Civil War.
The partnership, the first fruits of which are published in today’s edition of the newspaper, encompasses both the print and online edition of the paper. With regard to the former, on every Monday for the next four months there will be a two page spread that will include specially commissioned articles on a series of themes relating to the centenary, profiles of each of those who were executed in the aftermath of the Rising, and reproductions of items from the Examiner’s own contemporary archives. Plans are also in place to supplement this substantial body of material with original, value-added elements on a jointly-hosted website, including interviews, animations, illustrations, and more.
