This Culture Night, Fri 22nd Sept, Drama and Theatre Studies will host a number of events that are open to the public to come and see what we do.

The Department of Drama & Theatre Studies is pleased to introduce a new Higher Diploma in Arts (Theatre and Performative Practices) in the academic year 2017/18. 

The Higher Diploma in Arts (Theatre & Performative Practices) is a conversion course to Theatre-related studies for students with degrees in subjects other than Theatre or with Theatre as a minor subject. Completion of the Higher Diploma in Theatre & Performative Practices effectively converts your degree to the equivalent of an honours degree with Theatre as the main subject. 
It is designed for non-theatre graduates who wish to upskill, gain an additional qualification in the area of Theatre & Performative Practices which will pave the way to further study at MA or PhD level.

The UNIMA Research Commission with Cork Puppetry Festival, Drama and Theatre Studies - UCC, and Mary Immaculate College, is delighted to announce a two-day symposium exploring the ways puppetry intersects with disability and health.

A 17 minute film based on the SCENARIO FORUM CONFERENCE 2017 entitled "Performative Spaces in Language, Literature and Culture Education" (University College Cork, 25 – 28 May) 

Perforum is an events series hosted by Drama and Theatre Studies featuring the work of directors, practitioners, and researchers in the fields of Theatre, Drama and Performance Studies.

The Musicality of Beckett's Plays on the Page and in Performance

Wednesday 25^th January: Dr. Danijela Kulezic-Wilson

In her presentation Dr. Kulezic-Wilson will explore how Beckett’s infatuation with music led him to reach beyond the denotative purpose of language and imagine his theatre plays as musical compositions. She will be discussing how Beckett’s lifelong striving to achieve the perceptual immediacy of music through words was the primary force behind his reinvention of language and the creation of several landmark works in modern theatre.
