The Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience are delighted to welcome Ms Meghan Loftus, UCC postgraduate Quercus Scholar to its MSc Human Anatomy course. Meghan is a graduate of the University of Oregon, Pacific north west coast of the United States, and is happily settling into student life in Cork on the Atlantic south coast of Ireland!

Now in its third year, the MSc Human Anatomy course has become a very popular MSc degree in UCC. Course director Dr Siobhain O'Mahony and course cordinator Dr Mutahira Lone find teaching on the Masters programme very rewarding. 'The students have such varied educational and cultural backgrounds and each student has a different interest and career path, this broadens the learning experience for all'.

Meghan is one of nine students on the 2020 Human Anatomy MSc programme, and was chosen to represent UCC as a postgraduate Quercus Scholar, having being awarded the Quercus postgraduate scholarship.

Showing her love of human anatomy, Meghan and fellow student student Diana Avila had fun earlier in the semester participating in, and being placed runner up in '#MyStudentJourney', a Leap card competition. Their entry had a very innovative and colourful surface anatomy theme.

Megan has settled in well into student life in UCC and has documented her new student experiences in the MSc programme and life in Cork on her postgraduate blog, where she descibes the MSc Human Anatomy experience as well as her student activities life in Cork and future career plans.
