UCC Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Korean National Agency

University Colleges Cork’s School of Pharmacy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Agency for Administrative City Construction (NAACC) Sejong, Korea which formalises discussions on the construction of durable co-operation in the development of pharmacy education and medical/bio technology research in the future.

This development underpins UCC’s School of Pharmacy’s global reach as it continues to build cooperative links in health research, education and industry; whilst producing graduates of the highest quality and bringing about healthcare and pharmacy professionals of repute worldwide. Sejong is a new planned city located in the heart of South Korea, which is being developed by the South Korean government as a new growth engine with a forward-thinking energy policy.

Professor Stephen Byrne Professor of Clinical Pharmacy Practice and head of the School of Pharmacy states that “This Memorandum of Understanding captures how our culture of collaboration across disciplines, supported through world-class research and reinforced by rigorous academic programme creation, brings about truly excellent standard of teaching and learning to UCC students and valued connections to industry and partners such as the NAACC. This Memorandum of Understanding will allow us to explore areas of shared interest, and I hope that it will allow for mutual growth and development over the coming years.”

This announcement follows March’s announcement that University College Corks School of Pharmacy, and Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, were positioned amongst the world’s top fifty programmes by QS international university rankings.
