Dr Niamh Coffey awarded John Zamet Memorial Prize in Periodontal Research

Dr. Niamh Coffey, Clinical Fellow in Restorative Dentistry and PhD Candidate, has been awarded the John Zamet Memorial Prize in Periodontal Research by the Alpha Omega London Chapter.
This competition is open to all postgraduate students studying Periodontology across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The prize was established to recognise the contribution made to clinical periodontology by the late Dr John Zamet and was presented by Mrs. Susan Zamet on behalf of the Alpha Omega Society. The prize ceremony took place on 26th January 2021 where Niamh presented interim results of her doctoral research: “Periodontal Health of Adults with Cystic Fibrosis: A systematic review and clinical study”. This research is part of a larger HRB-funded study into the Oral Health of Adults with Cystic Fibrosis. This study is a collaboration between Cork University Dental School and Hospital, the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit in CUH, and Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Congratulations Niamh and well done on representing UCC so well.
