UCC staff and students participate in Malmö Autumn School
University College Cork (UCC) partnered with Malmö University to deliver the UNIC International Autumn School for Sustainability Leadership in Malmö, Sweden, from 5-9 October 2026.
The in-person portion marked the culmination of a blended intensive programme (BIP) delivered as part of UNIC's Sustainability thematic strand. The first Autumn School for Sustainability Leadership was held in UCC in 2025.
This year Malmö University worked closely with colleagues in Malmö City Council to co-develop solutions for climate challenges in the city. Participants at the School came from 10 EU countries with all UNIC partner universities involved. Four UCC participants took part in a student capacity.
UCC's in-person delivery was led by Dr Paul Bolger, Head of the UCC Sustainability Academy, and Anna Ozolina, Programmes Manager for the UCC Sustainability Academy. Dr Bolger described the week as "inspiring" with "uniformly positive... experiences".
