Presentation of Quercus Scholar Medals
Students from the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science were presented with Quercus Scholar Medals for 2024-25 at a special ceremony in the Aula Maxima on 22 April.
The Quercus Scholar Medal is among the most prestigious undergraduate honours awarded by the University. It recognises sustained academic excellence and is presented annually to 21 students who have achieved exceptional results across programmes in science, engineering and food science.
The Medal is awarded based on the results of each of the End of Year First, Second year, and Third year university exams in programmes offered by the College of Science, Food Science and Engineering.
To be awarded a Quercus Scholar Medal is a significant achievement, reflecting not only outstanding intellectual ability, but also diligence, commitment and resilience.
These scholars represent the very best of the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science. They embody the curiosity, discipline and ambition that underpin excellence in STEM, and the core values that define University College Cork.
Their success is made possible not only through their own dedication, but also through the guidance and support of lecturers, tutors, demonstrators and mentors, as well as the encouragement of friends and family, all of whom we gratefully acknowledge.
