Motorola Solutions Internship Showcase 2026

8 Oct 2026

The annual Motorola Solutions Internship Showcase 2026 highlighted an impressive collection of emerging tech talent as student interns from University College Cork (UCC) and Munster Technological University (MTU) gathered to present their industry achievements.

The collaborative event brought together student engineers, academic representatives, and industry leaders from both institutions to celebrate the culmination of months of intensive hands-on development and professional growth. Representing UCC alongside their MTU peers, the interns took centre stage to demonstrate how academic foundations translate into high-impact industry solutions.

Bridging Theory and Practice: Presentations & Live Demos

The showcase was structured into two core segments: formal technical presentations followed by an interactive, open-floor live demonstration session.

During the presentation phase, each intern detailed their journey, sharing their educational background, outlining the scope of their assigned engineering projects, and reflecting on the core competencies acquired during their placement. Students highlighted rapid development in software architecture, hardware integration, agile teamwork, and cross-functional project management.

Following the talks, attendees moved to the live demonstration floor. There, interns showcased their software applications, engineering prototypes, and system integrations in real time, answering technical questions from university mentors and Motorola Solutions personnel. The live environment offered attendees a firsthand look at the technical growth and problem-solving capability developed by the interns throughout the placement.

Building a Sustainable Pipeline for Emerging Talent

Now completing its second successful year, the Motorola Solutions Internship Programme has established itself as an essential bridge between regional academic excellence and industry innovation. The initiative provides a key foundation for early-career growth, combining structured mentorship and genuine engineering responsibility to cultivate a strong talent pipeline.

For UCC students, the programme continues to provide a springboard into the technology sector, reinforcing the strength of Cork’s academic-industrial partnership and demonstrating the power of collaborative learning across institutions.
