NetApp’s Vice President of Engineering, Pranoop Erasani, and Technical Director, Kiran Srinivasan, visited University College Cork (UCC) in November 2024 to discuss the vital role of industry-academic collaboration in driving innovation.

The discussions highlighted the importance of research and development (R&D) in the rapidly evolving IT sector. NetApp emphasised its commitment to R&D by expressing interest in engaging with UCC’s research centres, academic programmes, and innovative initiatives. This collaboration aligns with NetApp’s broader strategy of fostering innovation through partnerships with leading academic institutions.

Since establishing its international headquarters in Cork in November 2022, NetApp has deepened its investment in the region. The company recently announced plans to hire over 60 new software development jobs in Cork which comes as growth in AI drives demand for data infrastructure and hybrid cloud services.

Founded in 1992, NetApp is the intelligent data infrastructure company, combining unified data storage, integrated data services, and CloudOps solutions to turn a world of disruption into opportunity for every customer. No matter the data type, workload or environment, NetApp helps customers transform their data infrastructure to identify new business possibilities.
