Johnson & Johnson WiSTEM2D Awards

29 Nov 2024

The Johnson & Johnson WiSTEM2D University Programme aims to fuel development of the female Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing and Design Subjects (STEM2D) talent pipeline by awarding and sponsoring women at critical points in their careers in STEM2D disciplines.

The programme was introduced in the College of Science, Engineering and Food Science in UCC in 2018 and has been instrumental in supporting our female students through a range of initiatives including leadership training, mentoring, internships, bursaries, and CV/recruitment clinics.

Successful candidates receive a bursary award, a Johnson & Johnson industry mentor and site tours of Janssen Sciences Ireland, Janssen Pharmaceutical Sciences, and DePuy Synthes. Early career and development workshops are also included.

In total 82 students from across Ireland received awards this year. Johnson & Johnson’s hosted a day-long event at Thomond Park stadium of workshops and breakout sessions, aimed at helping the students in their careers.
