Olympics Success for STEM Students
Ireland's first medal at the Tokyo Olympics was secured by the Irish women's rowing team.
We are thrilled that this pioneering women's team includes current SEFS student, Emily Hegarty (Biological Sciences) and SEFS graduate, Aifric Keogh (MSc Food Microbiology). The rowers surged from fifth place, overtaking China, and in the last 200 metres passing the British team to move into third place and winning the bronze. Congratulations to Emily and Aifric, and their team mates, Eimear Lambe and Fiona Murtagh.
