Second-year Law and Irish students, Ruairí Ó Conchúir, Conor Ó Floinn, and Oisín Ó Síocháin were announced the winners of The Law Society's Human Rights Student Competition 2023. 

Their submission, entitled ‘Parole in Ireland – a Balance of Rights’, analysed the foundation of the parole system, its development, and the advent of the new parole system in 2021.

It considered the effectiveness of this system in respecting the rights of prisoners and the rule of law, along with the viewpoints and rights of victims.
