School of Law students take part in International Business Negotiation Programme
Eight undergraduate students from the School travelled to Ghent, Belgium to take part in the final part of the six-week programme.
In March, eight School of Law students travelled to Ghent, Belgium to take part in the final part of an International Negotiation Programme in collaboration with the Law Department at Ghent University. The trip was the culmination of a six-week programme, where law students from the two universities had the opportunity to engage in simulated international business negotiations both online and in person.
The programme gave students the opportunity to experience what it feels like to take part in an International Deal - communications, deal dynamics, personal dynamics with team members and opposing counsel, frustrations, breakthroughs, the importance of thinking creatively on lateral and non-legal issues.
Many thanks to Mr Kenneth Frankel, Prof Hans De Wulf and all involved at Ghent University.
Thanks to School of Law colleagues, Dr Shaoming Zhu, Dr Mary Tumelty and Dr Henrietta Zeffert for their organisation and support with this programme.
