From Ulster to Rome: A Retrospective on Hugh O'Neill

Dr Hiram Morgan and Dr James O'Neill recently organised a conference at the British School in Rome to mark the 400th anniversary of the death of Hugh O'Neill (1550-1616). Vatican Radio interviewed Dr Morgan in relation to the event.

A conference looking at the career of Irish leader Hugh O’Neill was held at the British School in Rome, 3-4 June 2016. The conference was organised by Dr Hiram Morgan and Dr James O'Neill (IRC Fellow) of the School of History, and included papers from several former graduates and postdoctoral researchers based in the School, reflecting the major contribution that UCC historians have made in this area.

Dr Morgan was interviewed on Vatican Radio in conjunction with this event.
