More about the artist

Goring is a visual artist, author, publisher and consultant and is based at Montréal, Québec, Canada, and Cork city, Ireland. He was born in London in 1949. Educated at the École des Beaux Arts de Montréal (1968-1971), he graduated with a Baccaulauréat specialisé en peinture, Fine Art. Post graduate work followed at St Martin’s College of Art in London (1972-1974). He was founding member, publisher and art director of the French language, arts and entertainments magazine, Virus Montréal (1978-1984). During this time Goring was director of Véhicule Art, Montréal (1975-1984), a contemporary artists’ centre. Since 1991 he has concentrated on painting, including the ‘Images of Justice’ – art works exploring the history and symbolism of law – and the ‘Trial Lawyer National Portrait Gallery’, an online portal of original art collections documenting and celebrating champions of justice. Images of Justice, vol. 1: Women in-law was published in 2000 by JustArt International, Montréal. Women in law: scattered heirlooms of legal history first published in 1995 by JustArt International, is available in Kindle format (2020). Images of Justice, vol. 2: Judges in time is also available in a limited edition. Goring has also executed architectural drawings in graphite of UCC and other Cork city buildings.
