FUAIM's first event in the beautiful Gluckman Gallery this season features none other than The Irish Guitar Quartet, comprised of Ireland's most talented and versatile guitarists, performing a wide range of music from Baroque to contemporary fusion.
Jerry Creedon, David Keating, Fiona Falvey and Aengus Kirakowski have garnered international acclaim as soloists. Each member contributes towards the creation of exciting, dynamic and engaging musical performances. As The Irish Guitar Quartet, they invite listeners to experience and enjoy a variety of styles, including Latin, folk and American classics.
Recent performances have included St. John’s Arts Centre, Listowel; Fota House, Cork; RTE Lyric FM; National Concert Hall, Dublin; Boyle Arts Festival; Clifden Arts Week; Clonakilty International Guitar Festival; University College Cork; Guitar Festival of Ireland; and a Schools Recital Series for West Cork Music. Forthcoming concerts include Siamsa Tire, Tralee; the National Opera House, Wexford; National Concert Hall, Dublin; and Cork Orchestral Society.
This Friday's programme at the Glucksman includes Opals by Phillip Houghton, Carmen Suite by Georges Bizet and Boccherini's famous Fandango.
