The Department of Music is pleased to welcome composer Dr. Dorone Paris as the next speaker of our 2021-2022 FUAIM Lecture Series.

The lecture "Group Narcissism and a lament for the future; an immigrant’s perspective" takes place on Google Meet on Thursday, 4 November at 11am. The hour-long presentation will be followed by a Q & A.

"Group Narcissism and a lament for the future; an immigrant’s perspective"

 

Description: This presentation will focus on my latest creative work, travels within communities of the Balkan, the UK & Ireland and the ethics surrounding that.

 

Bio: Dr. Dorone Paris is an Israeli political composer living and working in Ireland. She holds a PhD in Music Composition from University College Cork in Ireland. Being raised in Israel influenced her political ideas and affected her musical creativity, aesthetics and philosophy. Her work focuses mainly on the Israeli and Palestinian conflict and women’s rights. Her work has been performed throughout Eastern & Western Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
