UCC Community Week is a new week long programme of public and community events, co-created by people across the university and together with community partners. If you are planning any event with a public, community or partnership focus for the Autumn this year, we'd encourage you to consider running it during this week.
The inaugural university-wide community week builds on the successful CACSSS community week, through extending this initiative to the whole university. It will run from October 4th to 11th 2019.
In addition to a number of centrally organised events, the week will involve a university-wide co-created programme of public events that celebrates our community partners, our open campus, and our work to actively engage the public with what we do inside the gates of UCC. The programme of events will invite public and local communities to come in to UCC and bring UCC out to the community.
It is an opportunity to showcase the wide range of activity that takes place year round to ensure UCC is an open, inclusive campus that works together with and for communities to have a significant positive impact and role in society.
A Staff Town Hall Information Sharing Session about creating a programme for UCC Community Week took place on June 13th 2019. Its purpose was to introduce Community Week and invite staff to register an event to be included in the programme.
