New Anatomy collaboration between UCC and CIT

Professor John Cryan, Head of Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience UCC and Professor Ger Kelly, Head of Department of Mechanical, Biomedical & Manufacturing Engineering, Cork Institute of Technology have recently announced the commencement of a collaboration on one of CIT’s flagship degree programmes, the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) (Level 8) Biomedical Engineering.
This exciting collaboration will see the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience UCC deliver modules on the "Anatomy of Human Biomechanics" to CIT Biomedical Engineering students who will specialise in the design of next generation medical devices.
Dr. Andreea Factor, lecturer in the Department of Anatomy and Neurosciences, has developed and will present the exciting and innovative biomedical anatomy modules, she is confident that the module will deliver a strong specialised human anatomy course tailored to the needs of the biomedical engineering students. The Cork Institute of Technology students will also attend practical sessions in the Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience’s state of the art ‘FLAME’ human anatomy laboratory facilities. The Department of Anatomy and Neuroscience looks forward to welcoming the first CIT Biomedical Engineering students to this exciting new venture.
