The new Student Health Department Medical Centre was launched and officially opened on 20th of November 2023 by Minister Simon Harris TD, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. This new facility follows on from the opening of the new Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub in September and demonstrates the University's commitment to supporting the physical and psychological health and wellbeing of our students.

The Medical Centre is located on the ground floor of the new Crow's Nest Student Accommodation complex, and provides a large waiting room and reception area, 9 consulting rooms, a 2-bedded treatment and recovery room, a physiotherapy suite, a confidential office space with expanded administration areas and a staff meeting room. The official opening ceremony was notable for its large attendance by a wide cross-section of the university community, along with representatives from local health and other services. This is a fitting tribute to the commitment UCC has made in undertaking this significant investment to protect and enhance our students' health and wellbeing, and a testament to the high regard our students and staff have for the UCC Student Health Department"
