Alana Cutliffe starts MSc by Research in the laboratory of Dr. John Mackrill

On 1st October 2020, Ms. Alana Cutliffe commenced an MSc by Research on a project entitled “Acid-stimulated Ca2+ Signals as a Potential Therapeutic Target for the Treatment of Oesophageal Cancer”, supervised by Dr. John Mackrill of the Department of Physiology and co-supervised by Dr. Sharon McKenna, of Cork Cancer Research Centre, UCC.

This work is funded by Breakthrough Cancer Research. Prior to starting this project, Alana obtained 1st Class Honours degree in Human Nutrition from University College Dublin and worked as a Research Assistant at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC and at the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre. We would like to welcome Alana to the Department and to wish her every success in her studies.
