Transition Year with Physiology

Dr. John Mackrill, Department of Physiology, UCC supervised a team of Transition Year students from Hamilton High School, Bandon (Ardscoil Uí Urmoltaigh) for the month of December.

The team consisted of Jack O’Donovan, Paddy O’Halloran and John Mullan (left-to-right in photograph). The project, entitled ‘Investigating alternatives to FBS in cultured meat’ was highly commended at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition, held in January 2020. These students were superb ambassadors for their school and represent great potential contributors to the future of Irish science
