IT Policy Update and Phishing Challenge Competition

In 2016/17 IT Services undertook a review of IT Policies. Please familiarise yourself with these policies. You will find a summary of each policy and a direct link to the policy content here: https://www.ucc.ie/en/it-policies/policies/it-policy/#policy
Updated policies are available here: Acceptable Usage Policy, IT Security Policy and Web and Social Media Policy. A new overarching IT Framework Policy outlines processes, breach protocols and monitoring common to all policies.
Phishing Challenge
Last month IT Services rolled out a new product to further protect our email (Trend Micro Could App Security) intercepting ransomware and targeted fraudulent emails, amongst other threats, which a traditional security defence may miss.
UCC will continue to be under attack as the potential yield of UCC funds or UCC data for a cybercriminal is high. Each email user in the UCC community has a role to play in protecting UCC and user vigilance is our greatest defence.
Take our Anti-Phishing Challenge to learn some key tips on how to stay savvy to scam emails and be in with a chance of winning an Dell Chromebook!!
The short quiz and further information about IT Security can be found at: https://www.ucc.ie/en/it/security/scams/
The Anti-Phishing Challenge should be carried out on a desktop or laptop.
The winner will be announced in two weeks - Good Luck!
