‘Creating Tanztheater: Finding Ireland with Pina’

Finola Cronin is a choreographer, performer and lecturer in theatre and performance. She was founder member of Company Vivienne Newport, Theater am Turm, Frankfurt (Germany) and a member of Tanztheater Wuppertal (director, Pina Bausch). Recent performances include Cantatas with Raimund Hogue 2012 (former dramaturge, Tanztheater, Wuppertal) and Näher... closer, nearer, sooner with Liz Roche Company (Ireland) 2018. Finola also teaches at the School of English Drama & Film in University College Dublin where she is former Head of Drama Studies, and current Director of the MA in Theatre Practice - a UCD programme in partnership with the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin. Finola’s research interests include contemporary Irish and German dance theatre, and Irish performance.
