ABSTRACT

Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world, and the second most populated country in Africa. Ethiopia has a relatively small number of health professionals and a poorly-developed  health system. This seminar will consider the impact of the pandemic on the social, economic and even political situation in the country, and  the lessons than can be learned. 

PRESENTER

Temesgen Awoke has an MSc in Food Science and Nutrition. He has worked as a Researcher with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute since 2013, based in Addis Ababa. He was a member of the Ethiopian Covid response team during the first six months of the pandemic. He is currently studying for a PhD in the Department of Food Business and Development, UCC.
