Translational Research Internship (TRAIN) Awards 2023

Congratulations to the final year BSc Medical and Health Science students who were awarded Translational Research Internship Awards at the awards cermony held in Western Gateway Building UCC on the 24th of March 2023.
The Translational Research Internship (TRAIN) Awards were set up to support the participation of undergraduate Medical and Health Sciences students in life science research related to human health and disease. The TRAIN awards provide students with an up-to-date appreciation of cutting-edge research in the fast-paced discipline of biomedical research and enable students to further develop their research interests and become familiar with research techniques.
These awards support undergraduate research over a period of not less than four weeks between June and August. The award of a stipend of €500 to the successful applicant and an additional budget of up to €500 to the host laboratory for consumables required for the outlined research.
Applying students must have completed Second or Third Year in AY2021/22 in the BSc Medical and Health Sciences programme and be registered full-time within the School of Medicine at UCC. The research must be conducted with at least one Investigator who is based within the College of Medicine and Health at UCC. Successful applicants will be required to submit a final Summary Report within one month of award completion.
