Over 600 prospective students and almost 200 UCC staff and student ambassadors participated in UCC’s annual Postgrad Expo.

It was the first time this event was hosted in the Hub and the first in-person event for postgrad applicants in three years. The atmosphere was fantastic, with staff and students coming together.

A great programme of talks, workshops, drop-in sessions, and panel talks with current taught and research students, and with alumni were on offer. There was huge input from colleagues from the Office of the Deputy President and Registrar, including Student Recruitment, Student Experience, Graduate Studies Office, Career Services, Graduate Attributes, UCCApply Support; and other collaborators included the UCC’s Research Office, Fees, Tyndall National Institute, Skills Centre, Students’ Union, Clubs & Societies and of course our Academic and Professional Services staff from the four UCC colleges.

The purpose of the event was not only to promote UCC’s postgraduate offerings but also to emphasise UCC’s commitment to work-study-life balance and self-care. Attendees received a lovely self-care swag bag and those who attended Dr Eithne Hunt’s session on “Everyday Matters: Healthy Habits For University Life” were also gifted a lovely bamboo LED alarm clock generously sponsored by the Bank of Ireland.

The evening was rounded off by music performed by UCC’s Quercus Creative and Performing Arts Donnchadh Hughes and finger food.
