UCC Rollout Eduroam WiFi in Crow's Nest Student Accommodation

UCC announces the rollout of Eduroam WiFi to the Crow's Nest Student Accommodation, the latest campus accommodation building to be opened by the university.

UCC now offers a secure Eduroam WiFi service to over 1,500 students in all campus accommodation sites – Castlewhite, University Hall, Victoria Lodge, Victoria Mills, and Crow's Nest. The national operator for Eduroam in Ireland is HEAnet and the rollout was sponsored by Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris TD.

UCC is an early adopter of Eduroam and continues to promote the service as the primary secure WiFi on campus for staff, students, and visitors. Over 25,000 staff and students use the service daily to learn, teach, work, and securely connect to educational and internet services. UCC continues to be a leader in the usage of Eduroam boasting some of the highest coverage and usage in the state.

There are over 70 sites in Cork City and County alone where Eduroam is available thanks to partnerships with HEAnet, local hospital groups, Cork City and County Councils and Regional Hubs.  Learn more about Eduroam and its rollout across the country here
