No previous experience necessary / All levels welcome
Weekly gentle movement and relaxation classes taught by staff from the Department of Theatre – Yoga with Bernadette Cronin, Mindful Movement with Róisín O’Gorman and Hanna Somatics with Jools Gilson.
In the Department of Drama and Theatre Studies, we want to make work that takes your breath away, makes us re-think the world and world making. We need a floor to do it. We need space that has a supportive, kind, forgiving floor that is still durable enough to sustain all the creative possibilities a human body can invent. We need one that is accessible and able to be inclusive to all.
A floor is fundamental to the movement-based practices we want to cultivate and develop and offer to our community.
Help us Get Floored by paying what you can for an open drop-in movement class. All proceeds go directly to the flooring (and refurbishment) of an appropriate Teaching & Learning Practice space for our School. Thank you!
All fitness levels welcome. Yoga mats provided. Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in.
CLASSES & TEACHERS
Yoga: Get Floored and relax your mind and body in this gentle yoga practice session, including breathing techniques, meditation and gentle asana practice. Our mental, physical and emotional systems are all interlinked, and the ancient practice of yoga, meaning ‘connection’ helps restore balance.

Mindful Movement: Based on a range of somatic practices we will move to find the breathing room within the body-mind through gentle explorations of what is possible on any given day. Get Floored by what your body-mind knows.

Hanna Somatics: A gentle, mindful movement practice that cultivates our ability to wonder about our own embodiment. Get floored by your innate ability to learn about how you move through a gentle inward focus.
